“You created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb”
Psalm 139:13
Return
by Shannon Thomas
An abiding and dynamic presence gently weaves into the womb.
Your unformed body senses the Presence.
A holy blanket wraps you up.
It is peaceful, warm, and intoxicatingly present to every square inch of you.
As you turn and twist, and tumble in the womb,
you are with the architect of your innermost being.
Divine Love is closing in.
Emmanuel.
Presence is intimately involved with you, here.
Love is working with you, in you, and around you.
You are not yet earthside. You are being formed.
Sparks of God’s brilliance are flying towards you, to you.
Great Love is aware of you,
you seem to be aware of this Great Love, too.
This Great Love - Jesus, Father, and Spirit -
that once hovered over the darkness of your mother’s womb,
is now actively pulling you together in perfect love.
You hear songs, and feel the warmth of bright lights,
In a blink, the entire womb has been transformed into a symphony of creation melodies.
Your truest self is coming to be.
The trinity sings a song over you.
Emmanuel.
It is complete, your innermost being is whole.
All the soul knitting is finalized.
Now, sing your song from this place of knowing, Dear One.
I am with you.
Your innermost being still remembers:
the heat from his heart beating fast for you,
the rhythm of the chorus sung over you,
the smell of radiant sparks going out as they float by.
It remembers, you remember.
So, return, loved one, to this knowing.
Return, loved one, to your innermost being.
Right there, inside your purest self, is My Heart.
Return, and take hold of me in that First Place of Knowing.
