I started painting Good Friday on Friday afternoon, and it sat with me through the final days of the Lenten season. As I moved about the canvas, black lines began to take shape and to me, they mimc fractures. The pinkish white to me is a fleshy color, and it reminds me that my body has been spared. The crimson red reminds me of his blood poured out for me because of his great intentional love for his best creative work - humanity. Finally, the running blue is the sweat and his tears that felt every ounce of sin being laid on him. The perfect lamb was slain so that I might be free - and not only for eternal security - but for the right now Kingdom, that we get to experience in the here and now.

Come, Lord Jesus, come.
